Private TPI Fitness Evaluation Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Body-Swing Connection The premise is that lack of mobility & stability in your joints doesn’t allow your body to reach the proper swing positions. In fact, the inability to get into these positions will cause you to have one or more of the 12 most common swing faults. The best way to improve your game, prevent injury (lower back pain is the #1 complaint in golf), and continue to enjoy golf for many years, is to take a scientific approach to preparing your body for the physical requirements of the game. In fact, TPI professionals have the following philosophy. The TPI Golf Screen is a physical assessment of 13 movement patterns that are important to the golf swing. The physical screen assesses how well your body can move and support itself during the golf swing. The screen requires no equipment and is quick; it takes approximately one hour and 30 minutes. The screen will identify physical limitations and imbalances that may cause you to have one or more of the 12 most common swing faults.
TPI Professionals don’t believe there is only one way to swing a golf club; rather there are an infinite number of swing styles. But, we do believe there is one efficient way for every player to swing, and it is based on what the player can physically do. We believe that physical limitations cause movement inefficiencies that lead to a loss of power, swing speed, and inconsistent ball striking. Eliminate these physical limitations and the effect will improve your golf game. Obviously, the limitations need to be identified. And this is done by evaluating your movement patterns.
