MEGAN YOUNKMAN, LPGA - DIRECTOR OF GOLF INSTRUCTION
Megan Younkman has been dedicated to the golf industry with over 29 years of intensive teaching and competitive playing experiences and has given over 28,000 lessons in her professional teaching career. After being introduced to the game at 14 years old, Megan played collegiate varsity golf for The Ohio State University and The University of Toledo. An LPGA Class A Professional, Megan is currently Director of Instruction for her premier golf school in Tampa, Florida The Megan Younkman Golf Academy where she runs a comprehensive teaching program for new golfers to advanced competitive players. Additionally, Megan serves on the LPGA's Global Education Team for their Teacher Education Program. Megan is also currently the Chair on the National Continuing Education Committee for the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Membership. Megan is known as a student-centered teacher, excellent communicator, motivator and has taught internationally in both Austria and Germany. Megan is the published author of "Managing Your Business Game”. In September of 2011, Younkman was appointed the Head Coach for the State of Florida in the PGA Junior League Golf World Series held at the TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia and received the US KIDS GOLF Top 50 Teacher’s Award. Megan is a member of Proponent Group and The Positive Coaching Alliance. She is a U.S. KIDS GOLF Certified Coach, an LPGA-USGA Girl's Golf Site Director, Blast Swing Motion Technology Certified and V1 Video Swing Analysis Certified. Megan also proudly works with the University of Tampa Golf Teams on Mental Game Strategies and is an Adjunct Professor for the University of South Florida Department of Education. IAN PETERSON - TM1, TM2 - ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL
A Level 1 and 2 Certified TrackMan Professional, Ian Peterson brings to Megan Younkman Golf Academy the science and technology behind the golf swing to accelerate game improvement. With his experience in the corporate world, Ian understands the need to adjust and stay ahead of the competition. With TrackMan, you have all the tools needed to do just so, from a groundbreaking club and ball tracking golf radar to the best performance-enhancing software available in the industry today. TrackMan tracks the full trajectory of any shot, from 6-foot pitches to 400-yard drives, pinpointing the landing position with an accuracy of less than 1 foot at 100 yards. It also displays the shot’s 3D trajectory together with 26+ impact and ball flight parameters in real time, and the data is delivered within 1 second. Ian Peterson specializes in Trackman which provides our athletes with both precision and reliable feedback! Golf practice and player development are going through a period of tremendous change - and technology is a central component in that transformation. The mapping of swing DNA is now possible, as is the quantification and comparison of swing feel vs. real. Trackman technology also empowers us to monitor granular swing changes over time. Ian has joined Megan Younkman Golf Academy after over 20+ years in corporate America overseeing Finance and Governance organizations for IT and Insurance companies. Ian took up golf late in life but fell in love with the game immediately. Ian grew up in the Bronx, New York and moved to St. Petersburg, FL, where he attended Boca Ciega High School and Eckerd College. Ian married his beautiful wife Ariminta in 2016 and has a bright and lovely daughter named Rhian. CRYSTAL REYES - RYI, NASM, TPI - DIRECTOR OF GOLF FITNESS Certified RYI (Registered Yoga Instructor), NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) and TPI (Titleist Performance Institute), Crystal Reyes brings to Megan Younkman Golf Academy both wholistic training and golf fitness training. Crystal has more than 11+ years of teaching experiences in holistic health and fitness. Her natural spirit and mantra is to coach providing discovery of the whole self. She specializes in engaging the mind, body, and spirit for an internal connection toward self discovery. Crystal is a specialist with certifications in Hatha Yoga, iRest Yoga Nidra from the Integrative Restoration Institute, and Registered with the Yoga Alliance Foundation. Crystal Reyes joins Megan Younkman Golf Academy after an intense competitive fitness background, She competed in the 2013 Tampa Bay Classic and placed 4th in the 2013 Tampa Bay’s Women’s Open. She is an avid golfer and in training for her LPGA Class A Teaching and Club Professional certification. As a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Instructor, Crystal provides clients golf fitness training integrating strength, core, balance, stability and flexibility training. Born in Puerto Rico, Crystal came to St. Petersburg, FL as a young girl. She is now the mother of two beautiful girls, enjoys her personal workouts, spending time with family and friends and immerses herself in personal growth to provide the best for her students. JOE COLBERT - CERTIFIED CLUB FITTER & REPAIR SPECIALIST
Joe Colbert, has over 20 years experience in Club Fitting and Club Repair. He is the only Titleist Advanced Fitting Center on the West Coast of Florida. All of our fittings are conducted outdoors using a Trackman Launch Monitor and Pro V1 Practice Balls. Joe offers tour level Club Fittings to all levels of golfers.
